Castle Glower moves things around when it gets bored on Tuesdays. What do you do when you're bored? What activities or places do you find most boring?
What makes the castle wake up from its magical sleep? Were you surprised? Why or why not?
Celie had no idea how powerful the castle was until it was in danger. Then she started asking it to do more things to help. Do you think the castle would be as powerful if it weren't in danger? Do you think Celie will keep asking the castle to do things even though the danger is over?
How is Celie's communication with the castle similar to prayer? How is it different?
Get Creative: Pick one of these writing prompts and write a paragraph (or more!).
Everyone knows that an invading army could never take over Castle Glower. Write a paragraph explaining why. How does the castle defend itself? How does it take care of the people inside?
Prince Lulath has never visited Sleyne before, so he has a lot to share! Write a letter from his perspective to his family in Grath. How would he describe the castle? How would he describe the royal family and Prince Khelsh? What did he do on his first day there?
Celie spends a lot of time making a map of the castle to help others find their way. She also has two rules, which explain how to find the throne room or the kitchen. Draw a map of a real or imaginary place. Then write a few "rules" that might help someone find their way if they don't have a map.
