Grandpa likes bologna and mustard sandwiches. What's your favorite sandwich?
P. T. believes that everyone loves a good story. Name one or two of your favorite stories. What do you think makes a story "good"?
P. T. sometimes tells his friends stories that aren't true. What is the difference between a story and a lie? Does P. T. ever lie?
Some of the grown-ups in this story help P. T. and Gloria, like Mom and Grandpa. Others are greedy or dishonest, like the Sneemer brothers and Big Irv. Who are some adults you can trust to help you? How do you know if you can trust someone?
Creative Writing Prompts: Try out one or more of these creative prompts.
Find the wackiest object in your house and make up a story about it like P. T. would. If you need ideas, start with these questions: Where did it come from? What has it been used for? Does it have a secret power?
Think of something funny that happened to you this week and draw a picture of it. It doesn't have to look realistic! Use speech bubbles to show what people are saying.
Gloria comes up with some great money-making schemes that use P. T.'s storytelling abilities. Imagine you need to raise some money in your neighborhood. What skills do you and your friends have? How could you use them to make some money? Write your business plan and how much money you hope to earn.
